Project oVerview

Driving Question:

What does the early ministry of Jesus reveal to us about our society today?

Sub Questions to be answered through this project
  1. Jesus lived over 2000 years ago, how do these stories relate to me?
  2. How is forgiveness/grace represented in your story?
  3. Why  does Jesus teaching cause such an impact on people?
  4. How does God reveal his glory through your story?
  5. Why can we relate to these characters in such an intimate way?
  6. What would the interactions in your story look like today? (adaptation)
  7. How does Jesus show love through the story you are working on?
  8. What characteristics does Jesus show us through the story you have chosen?
  9. How does Jesus humbly serve those in your story?
  10. How can you use these stories to change the world?
Project Idea:
Up to this point, students have been studying the  events of Jesus' early ministry (John the Baptist, Jesus Baptized, Jesus Tempted by Satan, Jesus teaching and healing, Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus, Jesus clears the courts, and Jesus and the Samaritan Woman).

What students will do: Students will have the task of re-telling one of the stories studied.  To do this they will work in groups of no more than 4 to create a video adaptation of a chosen story.  

Standards/Objectives to be Addressed:
Visual Arts Standards: 
1. Students will choose and evaluate a range of subject matter, symbols, and ideas
2. Students use subjects, themes, and symbols that demonstrate knowledge of contexts, values, and aesthetics that communicate intended meaning in artworks

ISTE Standards:
1. Creativity and Innovation
     a. Apply existing knowledge to generate new ideas, products or processes
     b. Create original works as a means of group expression
2.  Communication and collaboration
     a.  Interact, collaborate and publish with peers employing a variety of digital environments and media. 
     d.  Contribute to project teams to produce original works or solve problems

Bible Standards:
BB2 Students will demonstrate principles related to Christian living and discipleship by imitating Christ through developing a comprehensive understanding of Christ's life, character, teachings and actions.
